Yummy!!
Well, the low country boil is usually reserved for New Year’s Eve, but we decided to dust off the fryer and pot and invite some friends over. After all you can’t have a low country boil alone. What could be better than chicken, shrimp, kielbasa, andouille, potatoes, onions, corn, garlic, lemons and Old Bay seasoning cooked together and then thrown on brown paper grocery bags on the table? Everyone gather around with some cocktail sauce and crusty bread and you’ve got dinner. I’m not sure what our friends though when they saw me making our “table cloth” out of grocery bags but they didn’t hesitate to eat.
The Falcons played the New Orleans Saints in the Superdome last night. The first game in the Superdome since Hurricane Katrina. We had to celebrate Cajun style. The food was good, the company was good, the football was not so good. The Falcons got stomped. I wish the Falcons weren’t the lucky, or unlucky, ones to be playing the Saints at home for the first time, the Saints were psyched. I was rooting for Atlanta but it just seemed right for the Saints to win and they did.
